Former Chinese champions Shandong Luneng miss out on ACL ticket after 3-0 defeat

BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Shandong Luneng's hopes of securing an AFC Champions League (ACL) spot were crushed on Sunday after losing 3-0 to Guizhou Zhicheng in the 29th round of the Chinese Super League.

Shandong now stay in sixth place in the league standings, five points behind fourth-placed Tianjin Quanjian. With just one round left, the 2006 Chinese League champions could not make it to the top four.
The top three teams in the league and the CFA Cup winners can earn an ACL ticket each. If Shanghai SIPG, which have secured the league's runner-up position, beat Shanghai Shenhua in the CFA Cup final, the 4th place team of the CSL would also qualify for next season's AFL.
Nikica Jelavic helped Guizhou break the deadlock in the 25th minute before doubling Guizhou's lead in the 67th minute by a scissors shot. Ruben Castro made it 3-0 in the 77th minute.

Guangzhou Evergrande, who had secured the CSL title last week, lost to Hebei China Fortune 3-0.
Aloisio dos Santos Goncalves headed home in the 25th minute to put Hebei 1-0 ahead. Ezequiel Lavezzi fired a powerful shot past goalkeeper Zeng Cheng in the 77th minute. In a bid to grab a berth in the ACL, Hebei continued to attack and Aloisio clinched his second goal in the 85th minute.
Zheng Dalun and Anthony Modeste scored twice respectively as Tianjin Quanjian beat Liaoning Shenyang Kaixin 4-1 on home soil.
Yanbian Fude, which will be relegated to the Chinese second division league alongside Liaoning, lost 5-1 to Shanghai Greenland.
In other games played on Sunday, Jiangsu Suning edged Beijing Guoan 1-0. Henan Jianye lost to Shanghai SIPG 4-2. Guangzhou R&F defeated Tianjin Teda 3-2. Changchun Yatai beat Chongqing Lifan 3-1.
