Is Kevin Muscat on his way to Europe

Postby admin » Mon Dec 30, 2019 2:09 pm

Reports are circulating the former Melbourne Victory player and coach Kevin Muscat is set to join Belgium Pro League outfit Sint-Truiden as either their coach or technical director.

Sint-Truiden sacked head coach Marc Brys last month after with their youth team coach Nicky Hayen in a caretaker role.

Europe's football’s governing body UEFA does not recognise Muscat's Asian Football Confederation certified Pro coaching licenses so he is facing the prospect of re-doing his Pro-Licence in Europe via the UEFA system which really makes a mockery of the global 'football family' in terms of the effort and time undertaken by coaches in our region to secure these types of badges.

Muscat must complete his Pro License course again in Europe which all takes time and of course 'money'.

There have been reports that UEFA recommended to the Belgian FA that Muscat be handed a moratorium on this matter.

Indication are the Belgian FA are declined this recommendation by the governing body leaving Muscat with no option other than to complete a UEFA Pro-Licence (no easy task) and be initially engage by the club in a technical role.
