It looks very likely that Western United’s Scott McDonald will transfer to the Brisbane Roar in the coming days for a 18 month stint at the Queensland A-League club.

Rumours have circulated for weeks that McDonald was unhappy at Western United so the announcement of his move north will come as no surprise to many.

Scott McDonald came on as a second-half substitute in Brisbane Roar’s 1-0 defeat of the Wellington Phoenix at Suncorp Stadium.

McDonald looked lively during his limited time on the pitch and also worked hard in defence to provide additional strength as the Brisbane Roar fought hard to keep their lead.
