The 2016-2017 EFL Championship (referred to as the Sky Bet Championship) will be the thirteenth season of the Football League Championship under its current title and it will be the twenty-fifth season under its current league structure. The season runs 6 August 2016 to 6 May 2017.

There will again be 24 teams competing in the Championship following the conclusion of the 2015-2016.
